A trauma-informed, nervous system-focused approach to healing through touch, sound, and movement.
This service involves manual therapy and body work performed by Dr. Rinde to promote vagal calming and nervous system balance. It can be done separately or in conjunction with the Safe and Sound Protocol (additional charges apply).
This therapeutic bodywork series is designed for those experiencing ongoing tension, pain, trauma-related somatic symptoms, gut-brain dysregulation, and postural imbalances. It is based on a trauma-informed philosophy that respects your body’s signals, boundaries, and readiness for change.
Each session incorporates advanced training in naturopathic physical medicine, osseous manipulation, myofascial and lymphatic techniques, and corrective exercises, with extensive education from Bastyr University’s Naturopathic Medicine program.
Modalities are tailored to your needs and may include:
◦ Deep tissue massage to address structural tension and myofascial restrictions
◦ Swedish massage to support circulation, lymph flow, and parasympathetic tone
◦ Soft tissue instrument manipulation to release fascial adhesions and improve mobility
◦ Trigger point release to deactivate pain points and enhance muscle function
◦ Holding and compression to release stored tension and promote safety and grounding
◦ Manual lymphatic support to reduce congestion, aid detoxification, and alleviate swelling
◦ Somatic and craniosacral-inspired touch to increase body awareness, regulation, and trust
◦ Therapeutic soundscapes and music therapy to boost vagal tone, relaxation, and emotional connection
Sessions are conducted with full professional draping, ensuring only the targeted areas are exposed for modesty, safety, and comfort, in line with trauma-informed care standards.
Sessions are conducted in a safe, collaborative, and profoundly respectful environment. This work is particularly beneficial for individuals recovering from:
Chronic stress, trauma, or emotional dysregulation
Postural and structural imbalances contribute to pain or fatigue.
Gut-brain axis dysfunction (e.g., IBS, SIBO, dysautonomia)
Burnout, adrenal exhaustion, or chronic illness
More than just a massage, this is an integrative somatic treatment experience that restores alignment, recalibrates your nervous system, and helps you reconnect with your body’s innate healing rhythm.
Why vagal body work:
As a specialist in gut health and functional medicine, Dr. Rinde often refers to other manual therapists as part of the healing journey. However, sometimes the patient-provider experience extends into this realm when Dr. Rinde is best suited to provide somatic or vagal body work.
Early in his career, he focused heavily on family medicine and physical medicine, often providing hands-on treatments. Since 2011, he has transitioned to working in functional health, gastroenterology, brain health, brain-gut balance, and chronic illness. He has always practiced trauma-informed care and completed additional training, including the Safe and Sound Protocol.
Dr. Rinde is skilled in manual therapy, osseous manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, Swedish massage, muscle energy stretching, vagal nerve release, and therapeutic exercises, thanks to his naturopathic training in physical medicine and postgraduate coursework.

All patients must be pre-approved for treatment by Dr. Rinde after a brief screening process.
Session time involves 5 minutes for arrival and 5 minutes for dressing at the end of the session.
