My Story

Ever since I was a young child , I was curious in the way things works, how puzzles fit together, biology, health, and observing patterns in nature.

It makes sense that I eventually found may way into a holistic medicine profession.

However it wasn't a straight path. I spent much of my early life dedicated to being an athlete; eventually working for the University of Arizona Men's basketball program all through my undergrad years. Then, started the path of coaching by interning with two NBA teams. I quickly realized that I wanted something different in life and found myself lost in early 20's with no sense of what I wanted to do for my life's' work. I had a bachelors in science from the University of Arizona but no sense of where I wanted to head in life.

From there, I worked in many capacities including coaching, personal training, fundraising, and in the nutrition and fitness industry. Meanwhile, I was personally exploring many facets of traditional healing, spirituality, fitness, and nutritional approaches.

After exploring many avenues including allopathic medicine. I attended lectures from renowned physicians Peter D'Adamo ,ND and Tori Hudson, ND; and realized Naturopathic Medicine was my path.  This profession combined my interests, skillset, and personal approach to life .  It was a profession that was challenging and intellectually stimulating. It was a perfect fit.

Upon settling on this path; I returned to school and  completed my pre-medicine requirements at San Francisco State University.  After a rigorous application process I was accepted into the 4-year Naturopathic Medicine program at  Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. I went on to receive a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) and completed the Family Medicine residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle.

After residency I launched Sound Integrative Health and was subsequently appointed as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Bastyr Center For Natural Health in Seattle (I served in that capacity for 5 years).

In the beginning of my practice; I was blessed to work side by side with mentors including Trina Seligman, ND, LaC,  Geoff Lecovin, ND, DC, LaC and over ten years with an icon in our field; Dr. Robert Martinez.

My practice started as a family practice and primary care focus and has increasingly become more specialized and focused on complex cases.

Throughout my career I have been increasingly become more interested in the digestive health , immune disorders, brain health disorders, adrenal imbalance, hormone imbalance, and nutrigenomics. And topics including the microbiome, brain-gut axis, dysbiosis , IBS, SIBO, Anxiety, ADHD, and other related disorders.

Including treating these conditions in practice, I have  given a variety of presentations  and appeared on media outlets to share his knowledge more broadly.

I have  lectured on small intestinal bacterial overgrowth , dysbiosis, the microbiome, and  appeared on TAP Integrative as an expert in irritable bowel syndrome. In 2019 I launched the One Thing Podcast with Dr. Adam Rinde that features informative topics from the world of naturopathic, integrative, and functional medicine.

After experiencing a life altering experience guiding my oldest son through a tragic bout with pediatric cancer, I became an  advocate for assisting patients and families dealing with pediatric cancer. In 2016, I  launched the nonprofit organization Blankets For Cancer.

This experience changes me for the better and has given me a deep life experience that has made me a better person , father, husband, and health care provider.

I am the proud father of two boys Eitan and Jordan (of Blessed Memory) and live with my wife and family on the Eastside. We have been residents in this area since 2001.

I  maintains professional memberships with the following organizations:
